Introducing Aggie Park, a place where nature and the Aggie Spirit intersect 365 days a year.

n Feb. 29, 2020, a groundbreaking was held for Aggie Park, a new premier green space located in the heart of Texas A&M University’s campus near Kyle Field and the John J. Koldus Building. This beautification project, envisioned as “an outdoor Memorial Student Center,” will transform 20 acres into enhanced outdoor spaces for study and relaxation, entertainment, recreation for students and visitors, and tailgating.

Originally conceived as a beautification effort in the form of a lake or water feature adjacent to the Kyle Field renovation, the project has since considered the growing needs of the student body. As a result, Aggie Park will include a lake and outdoor amphitheater for student and public events, additional and enhanced tailgating spaces and green spaces, walking paths and running trails, public Wi-Fi and dedicated media utilities for national broadcasts, and infrastructure improvements. Seating areas will also be integrated throughout, as well as yard games and places to hang hammocks and slack lines.

Various features in the park will pay tribute to the university’s history and achievements, including a standing structure that will honor Texas A&M’s distinguished alumni as well as a plaza recognizing university presidents. The park will also incorporate a new facility in its second phase that will provide a larger home for Aggie Ring Day and host other events.

As a joint fundraising partnership between The Association of Former Students, the Texas A&M Foundation and Texas A&M University, the project will be funded solely through private donations.
