Paul Morin Jr. ’10 ’11 and Cameron Brown ’10 learned the ABCs of a strong partnership when they met in kindergarten in Austin, Texas. The duo forged a tight bond that eventually led both to Texas A&M University. Now, the friends are achieving success as co-owners of Einstein Moving Company, a leader in Texas’ relocation market.
Both Aggies grew up in families who owned businesses and were drawn to entrepreneurship. While their respective paths diverged at Texas A&M—Brown majored in industrial distribution while Morin delved into accounting and management—they credit Mays Business School’s McFerrin Center for Entrepreneurship with supporting their success. “As students, its programs and support network nurtured our desire to be entrepreneurs and showed us how to achieve that dream,” Morin said. “As former students, the center allows us to share our experiences with students today.”
Both Aggies regularly competed in the center’s Raymond Ideas Challenge. Brown won first place with his idea for a bike lock that would automatically secure when the helmet wasn’t present, while the pair teamed together to earn second for “We Bake It, You Make It,” an idea that offered customers a chance to decorate pre-made cakes. Morin’s involvement with the McFerrin Center also included co-founding the Collegiate Entrepreneurs Organization and consulting South African entrepreneurs during a study abroad trip.
After graduation, the friends were determined to create their own business and ventured a few different directions, including opening a Christmas tree stand. “We created an awesome experience with a fake snow machine and stations for writing letters to Santa and making ornaments,” Morin recalled. “Our customers loved it. That showed us how impactful creating a superior customer experience could be.”
That same year, the pair worked part-time for an Austin moving company and quickly identified significant opportunities for innovation. In 2012, they founded Einstein with a commitment to stellar customer service.
That commitment begins with an extensive hiring process that ensures movers are personable, trustworthy and detail oriented. The company is an industry leader in employing technology that allows customers to rapidly get estimates, book a move, meet their moving team and receive regular relocation updates. Additionally, Einstein offers straightforward pricing, complete damage coverage and guaranteed on-time arrival.
As a result, the company—which expanded to Dallas, Houston, San Antonio and Fort Worth—enjoys a 30% annual growth rate since launching a decade ago. This rapid success also led to Einstein receiving the Aggie 100® Award from 2017 to 2020 as one of the fastest-growing Aggie-owned businesses in the world.
Today, the founders are optimistic about the company’s future. “One of the biggest blessings of my life has been knowing Paul since we were children,” Brown said. “Having a business partner you can trust who has different skill sets gives you the confidence to dream big.”
